Director of Golf

Dave Britton has served as director of golf for the Dataw Island Club for more than 12 years. As director, his responsibilities include running all aspects of the community’s golf program, golf shop merchandising, conducting the extensive tournament schedule at Dataw Island, coordinating daily play on both golf courses, working closely with the golf course superintendent and staff on coordinating and scheduling golf events along with golf course maintenance activities. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Britton is a graduate of Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich. with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and professional golf management. He has also been a member of the Professional Golfer’s Association of America since December 1982. Prior to joining Dataw Island Club, Britton served as an assistant golf professional at the Oaks Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the Inglewood Country Club in Seattle; Bear Creek Golf World in Houston, Texas; Rawiga Country Club in Wadsworth, Ohio; and Portage Country Club in Akron, Ohio. He has also served as head golf professional at Useless Bay Golf & Country Club in Whidbey Island, Wash. and as a teacher at the Palm Springs Golf Academy in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
