Dataw Island Named as Top 10 Retirement Community
Dataw Island has been named one of the top 10 “Best Retirement Communities in South Carolina” by Best Retirement Destinations magazine. The island community located between Charleston and Savannah near Beaufort, S.C. placed third in the state with the results appearing in the online magazine’s June issue.
Five criteria were used to determine the rankings including residential options, visual appeal, recreational activities, social networking opportunities, and safety and security. Dataw Island received a score of 96 percent in the top 10 survey.

Dataw Island also ranked among the top 10 in the following categories in South Carolina: Best Retirement Island Communities (5th), Best Retirement Active Lifestyles Communities (5th), Best Retirement Golf Communities (7th) and Best Retirement Beach and Waterfront Living Communities (10th).
