Dataw Promotes Lori Murdaugh
January 13, 2010, St. Helena Island, S.C. – Dataw Island Club representatives announced that Lori Murdaugh has been promoted to the position of assistant general manager and assumed her new duties on January 1, 2010. In addition to assisting general manager Ted Bartlett in the management and care of the Dataw Island Club, the owner’s association programs and club facilities, Murdaugh will continue in her role as the controller of Dataw Island Owner’s Association and the Dataw Island Club.
The Beaufort, S.C. native began her Dataw career 26 years ago by working directly with the island’s original developer, Alcoa South Carolina, Inc. After three years as an accounting specialist, she was promoted to accounting manager in 1986, and became the controller of Alcoa South Carolina, Dataw Island Realty, Dataw Island Owners Association and Dataw Island Club in 1989. In addition, she has served as the interim general manager of Dataw Island three times. Murdaugh is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
“I’m excited to take on this new challenge as the new assistant general manager,” said Murdaugh. “Dataw is moving forward and achieving so many positive things in our island community, and in my hometown of Beaufort, and I am proud to be a part of this growth.”
“We are thrilled that Lori has agreed to assume more responsibilities with Dataw Island as the assistant general manager,” said Bartlett. “She has been a valued Dataw employee for 26 years and in addition to adding more variety to her job, this position will allow us to be more proactive in the care of club and owner’s association programs and facilities.”
